JOSH HUMPHREY ![Dr. Humphrey headshot](https://www.ballantynevet.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Team%20Photos/Dr.%20Humphrey%20headshot.png?width=408&height=490&name=Dr.%20Humphrey%20headshot.png) Dr. Humphrey earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from NC State University in 2006. After graduating, he completed an internship at the University of Minnesota before returning to NC State to complete a fellowship in spinal cord injuries in dogs. He then spent the next 7 years as an emergency veterinarian in Cary, NC and Charlotte until joining this private practice in 2014, and becoming the owner of the newly named Ballantyne Veterinary Clinic one year later. In his free time, Dr. Humphrey enjoys playing softball, fly fishing, and going to sporting events (Go Hornets!) with his wife of 25 years and 2 sons. He was recently adopted by a 3 legged, half-tailed kitty, named Squish who helps his dog Sadie, a mixed breed dog, rule the house! ### DR. JULIE BLEVINS ![Dr. Blevins headshot](https://www.ballantynevet.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Team%20Photos/Dr.%20Blevins%20headshot.png?width=408&height=490&name=Dr.%20Blevins%20headshot.png) Dr. Blevins earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri in 2011 (where she also competed as a collegiate gymnast!). After graduating, Dr. Blevins practiced as a small animal vet in Missouri and Kansas, then made the move to NC in 2014. She recently spent three years living in London, England practicing at a small animal clinic, before returning to Charlotte in 2021. Dr. Blevins enjoys all aspects of general practice but especially dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and preventive care. Outside of work, Dr. Blevins enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, traveling, hiking, camping and going to the beach.
